Review for Hard to Break by Bella Jewel - 4 bees knees

Quinn has spent her whole life working in her dad's garage, leaving her more comfortable with a carburetor than a curling iron. Her world is turned upside down when her beloved garage is bought by none other than world famous, sexy as sin, custom car builder, Tazen Watts. He's the one man she can't stand...even though he makes her hotter than a high performance engine in top gear. Tazen has no use for Quinn, at least not professionally, and he's making sure she knows it. But there's a spark between them that she's finding hard to ignore. She's determined to prove her talent is as impressive as her sassy mouth. When she finds out Tazen is hiding a secret that could bring down his career and everyone involved in it, she wonders: is falling for him is going to be work the risk?

This was pretty good, but I didn't like it as much as the first book in the series. Also, even though these books are part of the same series, there wasn't any characters from the first book; at least from what I remember, so you don't need to have read the first book in the series to enjoy this one. I'm a Fast and Furious fan, so I loved that the setting was in the car world, and I like that Quinn knew a lot about cars. Quinn is the narrator for the whole book, and I liked that she was sassy and stood up for herself, but there were sometimes in the book that she goes a bit off the rails, and I thought that was a bit over the top, but she had a lot of crap going on, so I'll give her a pass. I did like Tazen, but I think him being with lots of women was mentioned too many times. Tazen is a bit of a douche, and thinks an awful lot of himself, but he grew on me. I also liked that the women Quinn sent away had some self respect, and weren't falling all over themselves for Tazen. I also think the term "wet panties", or some form of that statement was used too much. The ending was abrupt to me, I felt like something major was about to happen, but then boom! the epilogue was next. I suppose the main conflict of the book was Quinn and Tazen actually getting together because they weren't together until about the middle of the book, and also Quinn having to deal with family issues. Quinn and Tazen did have some great sex scenes with each other, and they do have chemistry, and I think Quinn is the type of woman Tazen needs. I'm liking Bella Jewel's writing so far, so I do plan to read the next book in the series. Hard to Break kept me interested till the end, and the characters had some depth to them, so I think it's a great read for readers who love some alpha maleness.
