Review for Accelerate by Tracy Wolff - 5 bee knees!
SYNOPSIS FROM GOODREADS.COM -
Once the brains behind a car-boosting ring, Nic Medina has spent the last three years playing it straight. Now drag racers flock to his L.A. auto shop, Hotwired, for a shot at going head-to-head with the man himself. But when a crooked cop gives Nic a treacherous ultimatum—steal ten high-end cars or watch his nephew disappear into the system—he makes the only choice he can, one that puts the life he’s worked so hard for at risk. No sooner does Nic agree than he spots some nasty competition—and a gorgeous bystander in harm’s way.
A small-town girl with Hollywood dreams, Jordan Bass never expected to be swept up in a real-life drama. But that’s exactly what happens when she witnesses a violent crime. And when a smoldering stranger takes the wheel and practically kidnaps her in a desperate bid to keep her safe, she’s not sure whether to scream . . . or kiss him. Nic’s bad news—but the real bad guys aren’t above silencing a witness. On a collision course with danger, Jordan finds herself falling for the man whose street smarts are keeping her alive . . . and whose touch puts her in high gear.
MY REVIEW -
Loved it! It has a pinch of Fast and Furious, which I happen to really enjoy, and a lot of excellent characters! I loved the characters in this book; even the side characters, and I am really looking forward to reading about them in the next books in this series. Jordan is the female lead in this book, and she is trying to start her life anew after being through a something really horrible. Nic is the male lead, and he is the type of guy to take the weight of the world on his shoulders. Nic blames himself for some of the circumstances that happened to his siblings, so he feels like he messes everything up, so he is a bit fragile when things don't go right and he takes it really personally. Jordan goes to a drag racing place to meet up with some guy to fix her car that she just purchased at the police auction, and there across the crowd she sees Nic, and feels instant sparks. Nic is being blackmailed by a crooked cop, and Jordan gets pulled into the fray. Nic and Jordan start off a bit rocky, but it they soon begin fall one and another. So, Jordan, Nic, and Nic's friends are trying to figure out how to deal with the situation they find themselves in. The romance was really sweet, and they are adorable together. Nic is really great for Jordan, and I really liked that he is a tough guy, but really he is a beyond nice guy. Nic and Jordan have some really cute moments, and also some intense scenes with excellent chemistry. This book has heart and it has action that keeps the reader reading until the end because they don't want to put it down! I loved it, and I will definitely be reading the next books in this series, and other books by Tracy Wolff!
