Review for Wicked Heart by Leisa Reyven - 5 out of 5 stars!

The one guy she can’t have is the one she can’t forget.

Liam Quinn is one of the biggest movie stars in the world…and the only man Elissa Holt has ever truly loved.

After being out of her life for six years, he and his gorgeous fiancé are set to star in the new Broadway show Elissa is stage managing. The only trouble is, when late night rehearsals bring Elissa and Liam together, the line between what is and what could have been gets blurred. Now one moment of weakness is about to create a scandal that will echo around the world.

Elissa knows that falling for Liam again would be a tragedy in the making, but as any good romantic knows, love doesn’t always follow the script.

Another wonderful book from Leisa Reyven! I loved the first 2 books in the Starcrossed series, and I loved this one too! The romance is so sweet and deep in each of the books, and I love how devoted the characters are to each other. Wicked Heart is Elissa story; she is Ethan's (male lead for the first two books) sister, and while I definitely missed Ethan and Cassie, I really enjoyed Elissa and Liam's story! Elissa and Liam have an instant connection, but through some unfortunate events; Liam making bad decisions, they end up not being together, but after 6 years of never seeing each other, Elissa is the stage manager for a play that Liam, who is now a famous actor, is going to be in with his fiancé costar. Elissa has never really gotten over Liam, but is determined to not show how much she is still affected by him. Even though Liam doesn't make great decisions, I still loved him, and thought he was adorable! I also really like Elissa, she is a strong female and I enjoyed her humor. I wanted her to give Liam more a butt kicking! As I said earlier, the romance is on point! The sex scenes are great! They aren't over the top, and they are realistic, but they still have tons of spice. The soft side of the romance is just heart melting! The guys in these books are something else, and that's in the best possible way. I will definitely read anymore books by Leisa Reyven! She sure knows how to make a reader fall in love!

I just wanted to say one thing, and it is a spoiler; not a very clear spoiler, but still, so be warned....SPOILER APPROACHING......SPOILER!!!!!

How in the heck do you sign a contract, and not have some ending date for it! So stupid! That whole thing was nuts. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid!

Review for Fooling Around by Noelle Adams - 5 out of 5 stars!

In this steamy novel from New York Times bestselling author Noelle Adams, a notorious tech mogul makes a mild-mannered woman an offer she can’t refuse. What he gets is a battle for control—and a million-dollar affair.

Eric Vincent isn’t in the habit of asking for help. As the founder of a lucrative sports videogame franchise, he’s accustomed to getting his way and enjoying the fruits of his hard-earned success. Then all his illusions of dominance are shattered by a skiing accident that leaves him hobbled, facing a string of surgeries and months of immobility. The only way he’s going to survive is with someone by his side to anticipate his every desire. Someone who will devote every waking second to his comfort. Someone like Julie Nelson . . .

Julie’s life revolves around other people: her students, her parents, her sister. But even she has her limits. Julie has zero interest in playing personal assistant to Eric Vincent, a man who’s as arrogant as he is charismatic . . . until he ups the salary to one million dollars for three months’ work. Soon Julie’s struggling to bite her tongue—and resist the chemistry that draws her to Eric. But after one scorching kiss, Julie decides it’s finally her turn to be selfish. And this time, she’s going to get what she wants.

I found Fooling Around to be really sweet, and I enjoyed the chemistry between Eric and Julie. The romance is definitely the focus of Fooling Around, so not much else happens, but I happen to enjoy romance centered books, so I didn't mind that there wasn't a whole lot of other stuff going on. Julie has been taking care of her parents for the last 6 years due to illness, so she hasn't lived for herself in long time, and when both of her parents have passed; her dad has passed already when the book begins, and her mom passes away within the first couple pages of the book, Julie is unsure what to do with her life now that she doesn't have anything holding her back from doing what she wants. As Julie is leaving the hospital, she gets trapped in an elevator with Eric. Eric has just broken his leg and is in need of a wheelchair, and he also in a very grumpy mood about the whole situation. During their brief meeting, Eric decides Julie is exactly the type of person he needs to help him out while he is in a wheelchair, so he offers Julie a crazy amount of money to be his helper for 3 months, but Julie is weary of Eric's offer; especially since he wasn't exactly a nice guy when she first met him, but she knows that it would be foolish not to accept such a generous offer. I liked that Julie doesn't let him walk all over her, and although Julie is quiet and understated, she is strong, and I liked her compassionate nature. I liked Eric too; I liked his gruffness, and I like that he is commanding, and even though he could be a bit of a brat sometimes, I didn't mind it too much, and I found his gruffness sort of adorable. I like when characters fight against the attraction they feel for each other because I enjoy the moment when they can't help themselves any longer. The sex scenes were a bit tame, but I still enjoyed them. Also, the pace is a bit slow, but I was interested in the story the whole time. I'm looking forward to reading more from Noelle Adams!

Review for Saven Denial by Siobhan Davis - 5 out of 5 stars!!!!

My mother was right to fear me.
I’m an abomination.
And the world should be very afraid.

Sadie has been kidnapped by the Tor, the vindictive alien race who destroyed Thalassic City. As her past, present, and future collides, her worst nightmare looks set to become her shocking new reality.

A deliberate pawn in leader Griselda’s vengeful game, Sadie is horrified to learn the truth about her heritage and the destiny that’s already been mapped out for her. Refusing to cooperate, she risks paying the ultimate price for her defiance.

Love for Logan is her only motivation to stay alive. Saving him is the only thing that matters—the fate of the world depends upon it. While he may never forgive her, she’s determined to protect him. Until her dying breath.

Note from the author: This continues the story from where it left off in Saven Disclosure. This is not an optional novella but an essential read if you don't want to miss out on important plot developments.

Another amazing addition to the Saven Series! Siobhan Davis is definitely one of my favorite authors! Saven Denial was so good! I don't even know where to begin, I loved it so much! It didn't even feel like a novella because so much happens, and the whole time I was reading it, I felt so anxious to find out what happens, and I am really looking forward to the next book. I hate waiting! The thing I love about Davis' writing is that her world building is so vivid, and I love the unique settings she creates; I can picture them perfectly in my mind as I'm reading. I love that she goes into multiple types of aliens; it is really cool to read about the different species. I love all the action and sci-fi aspects! I've always loved Sadie, but I definitely was loving her more in this book; she was thinking everything I would have been thinking in this type of situation, and she was really strong with how she handled everything. This whole series is just wonderful!

Saven Denial picks up right where the 2nd book ended, and I recommend reading this book before you continue on in the series because there is definitely a lot of crucial information needed, and it's an excellent book anyway! So, Sadie has been kidnapped by the Tor, and they are holding her because she factors into their plans to dominate the universe. Along the way, Sadie finds out some much needed information about herself and the situation, and I was shocked at the horrible things done to Sadie. Griselda, leader of the Tor, is out of her mind! I'm thinking she's so vindictive because there definitely has to be some type of heartbreak that happened to her to make her the way she is now.

So, there is sort of a love triangle started in this book, and although I'm not a big fan of love triangles, Siobhan Davis does them in such a way that I don't mind them so much, and the main reason I don't like them is I feel so bad for the person not chosen. Axton is one of the Tor, and I don't want to give to much away, so I won't say quite what happens with Sadie and Him, but I don't really feel like Axton is an option for Sadie. He felt a bit unstable to me, and I think he has deep mommy issues, and he doesn't quite know himself yet. He needs to get a backbone also! I feel the whole thing between Sadie and him is a Stockholm syndrome type of thing, and I felt like the feelings between the two aren't entirely based in fact. I really feel for him, but I am for Logan the whole way, and I feel like Logan and Sadie have been thorough so much, and they still manage to find each other. So sweet! I need the next book now!!!!! Please!

The 10 books that have been on my To Be Read List on Goodreads the Longest

I read books all the time, but I still have so many that I haven't gotten to yet, so I was curious which books have been on my To Be Read List on Goodreads the longest, and I thought it would be fun to write a post featuring the 10 books that have slipped through the reading cracks. Even though I read 200-300 books a year, I was surprised that the book that has been on my TBR list the longest has been there since July 28, 2011; that's almost 5 years! There's many reasons why certain books just get passed by: new books to read instead, books I receive to review take precedence, easier availability, unknown author, a book sounds more exciting and exciting than the other, and there are just too many dang books I want to read! At this exact time, I have 2597 books on my TBR list, and I haven't even added all the books I have to read on my Kindle; there are just too many free books, so my Kindle is packed! Alright, so lets get down to it!

The book that has been on the list the longest is.......

#1. Eternal Rider by Larissa Ione!

Added by me on July 28, 2011! I joined Goodreads in July 2011! Woohoo!
Book Released: January 2011.
Average Goodreads Rating: 4.22.

Now, I actually really love Larissa Ione's writing, so I'm surprised I haven't read this yet! I really enjoy her Demonica series! Just the first book I would probably love that I haven't read yet!

Next up.......

#2. Entwined by Heather Dixon!
Added on July 28, 2011! Same day as the first!
Book Released: March 2011.
Average Goodreads Rating: 3.87.

First off, that cover is beautiful! I am a sucker for a beautiful cover! I haven't read any books by Heather Dixon, and it looks like she has only written 1 more book since the publication of Entwined, but that book also has a beautiful cover and sounds interesting, so I went ahead and added it to my TBR list! Now I'm up to 2598!

Next book.......

#3. Eternity by Heather Terrell!
Added on July 28, 2011!
Book Released: June 2011.
Average Goodreads Rating: 3.78.

This is another author I've never read, but it is a book about angels with romance, so I'm down for that! This is also the 2nd book in the series, so I'm curious when I added the 1st book in this series....turns out it was December 2012! Jeez, over a year after. Hmmm wonder what was up with that. Anyway, I actually think I own this book! I own a lot of books I haven't even read yet; I need to get on that! I'm pretty sure I bought it, or maybe it's the first book in the series when Borders was going out of business, and there was some really awesome deals! Sad about Borders though! I went to the midnight book release for Breaking Dawn at Borders! It was lots of fun!

Next book come on down!!!!!

#4. Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning!
Added on August 14, 2011.
Book Released: October 2006.
Average Goodreads Rating: 4.16.

Another author I have never read, Holy Mole! There's 10 books in this series! Dang, that's going to be a commitment if I ever finally do read this book. I just re-read the synopsis, and it has a main character who discovers more about herself than she knew, a murdered sister, Ireland and supernatural elements! No wonder I added it! Sounds Awesome!

Half way there!!!!

#5. Drink, Slay, Love by Sarah Beth Durst!
Added on September 7, 2011
Book Released: September 2011
Average Goodreads Rating: 3.83

Let's see, I've read 1 book by this author, and she got a 4 star rating for that book, so that's pretty good. I'm not sure this book still interests me though. It's about a teen girl vampire, who is stabbed with a unicorn horn, and now can walk in the sunlight, so she is tasked by the head vampire to go to high school to lure teens to a big vamp feast. Sounds sort of interesting; I enjoy humorous books, so it has that going for it, but it may be a little corny for my tastes. I'll just have to read it when I'm fell like a light, easy read.

Next up.......

#6. Witch Eyes by Scott Tracey!
Added on September 7, 2011
Book Released: September 2011
Average Goodreads Rating: 3.7

Hmmm....Another author I've never read, and I don't recall this book like I have the previous books. The cover is pretty cool, and it has supernatural elements, so that's a bonus. Hmmm...yeah it isn't peaking my interest, I'm going to go ahead and delete it! Back down to 2597 on TBR list!

The new #6! Which would have been #7, but oh well, now we get 11 books!

New #6. After Obsession by Carrie Jones and Steven E. Wedel!
Added on September 7, 2011
Book Released: September 2011
Average Goodreads Rating: 3.68

I've read this author! Well, Carrie Jones anyway. I feel bad when there are 2 people who write a book, but the person who is listed second isn't really acknowledged. Anywho, I read Carrie's Need series, and I loved it! 4 and 5 stars for all 4 books! I do like the cover of this book. Time to refresh my memory by reading the synopsis (please hold).....OOooooo! Sounds interesting! I love when characters meet in dreams, and then find each other in real life! And it is a standalone! So I won't have to commit tons of time to a whole series! Score!

Here comes book 7!

#7. Shut Out by Kody Keplinger!
Added on September 7, 2011
Book Released: September 2011
Average Goodreads Rating: 3.76

I've read the book DUFF by this author, and I really enjoyed it; the movie was very different then the book by the way. The cover isn't reaching me. Synopsis time. Not something I would put at the top of my list to read; that's probably why I haven't read it yet. Football team and Soccer team at same school have rivalry. Girl is mad it is affect love life with boyfriend who plays football. Girlfriends of both teams go on a sexual strike. Girls against Boys. New love interest for Girl. Yeah, it isn't catching me. Another one of those books that I'll read if I want some fluff.

Marching on to the next book.....or rather books because they are part of the same series; books 4 and 3 in the series, and for whatever reason, again I have added the 4th book before the 3rd, but at least it was the same day this time!

#8 Kade by Cheyenne McCray! and #9 Clay by Cheyenne McCray!

Both Added on September 12, 2011
Book Released: Kade - October 2010 Clay - April 2011
Average Goodreads Rating: Kade - 4.14 Clay - 4.04

Okay, so I'm hoping I read books 1 and 2, and on closer inspection, I have! Gave both 4 stars, and there is also a book 5 in the series, and it is also the end of the series, so I am going to go ahead and add it to my TBR list! Back up to 2598! So, these books definitely look steamy! That is just based off the covers. Synopsis time! Hmm weird, Goodreads has the same synopsis for both books; it's the synopsis for the Clay book, I'll just have to read some reviews on Kade. Both books sound decent, and they seem to be a bit of a western type of thing with ranchers and such, and I like that type of thing. Love a good hot manly man. So, they both definitely get to stay on the TBR list! Especially since I rated the first 2 books with 4 stars! And I have read other Cheyenne McCray books, and really enjoyed all of them so far!

This is the end, the end my friend! You've made it!

#10!!!!!!!!!! Broken: A Paranormal Romance by David H. Burton!
Added on September 12, 2011
Book Released: June 2011
Average Goodreads Rating: 3.51

And yet another author I've never read! Alright, so the cover looks pretty cheesy, and the fact that it says it is a paranormal romance in the title makes it even cheesier. Now I am a lover of paranormal romance, so maybe first impressions aren't always good indicators, so I'm going to reserve my opinion as of yet. Synopsis time first! actually sounds pretty interesting! I happen to really enjoy books with the Fae, and I'm down for strange visions, 2 love interests with secrets, and a quest to find answers! Sounds like my type of book! Good thing I don't always choose books with beautiful covers! Um....ok I do most of the time! But when you read so many books, you need ways to determine what you read! So that may be why this book got lost in the book shuffle!

So, out of those 10ish books, the one I want to read very soon is........wait for it......Eternal Rider!!! The book that has been there the longest! I chose it because I really do love Larissa Ione! I'm going to try to read it in the next, ummmm, let's say 6 months. I know, I know, that's forever from now, but I have tons of other books to read! But, I will definitely do my best to get it read! And maybe, a couple of the other ones! Wish me luck!

Thanks for taking the time to read my post! You are Awesome!

Review for Jackson's Trust by Violet Duke - 4 out of 5 stars

It’s no secret that sports analyst Jackson Gray doesn’t do relationships. What is a secret, however, is the reason why. Jackson’s life is . . . complicated. And it doesn’t help that his current hands-off “friendship” is with the cute-as-hell new sideline reporter he’s assigned to train. Turns out, not only is the woman damn sweet, she also knows as much about football as he does. Like it or not though, Jackson has to remind himself that sex is the only thing he has to offer . . . until now.

Leila Hart’s fast-growing friendship with Jackson is something she’d never risk, no matter how unbelievably seductive the reward. Becoming an NFL sportscaster has always been the goal, and thanks to Jackson’s fierce support and mentoring, it all finally seems within reach. Problem is, a girl can only take so much of that sexy-as-sin voice whispering dirty, filthy football stats in her ear before she loses all self-control. A workplace romance with Jackson is a disaster waiting to happen, especially for someone with big dreams . . . and secrets of her own.

I really enjoyed Jackson's Trust! I loved both of the main characters, and I also liked the side characters, and I loved the romance. I did feel that the book did move a bit slowly, and some of the actions of the main characters towards the end were weird to me, and I don't really get why the "issue" was such an issue, and what Jackson did to Leila after a certain intense event in the story was glossed over too much for me; another of those things I just didn't understand his reasons for doing, so those are the main reasons I knocked it down a star.

When Leila and Jackson first meet there is an instant connection, but Leila meets Jackson when she starts a new job, and Jackson is her mentor at the job, so Leila doesn't want to be looked down upon at work for being involved with Jackson; especially since it is hard for a woman to be in the sports business, and Jackson feels that he doesn't have anything to offer a woman besides sex, and he thinks Leila deserves more than a meaningless hook-up, so they both back off of getting involved romantically with each other, and start a "friendship", and I say "friendship" because they do things that most male and female friends don't do; things like cuddling. I thought Jackson and Leila's relationship was really sweet, and I enjoyed how they developed their friendship before they realized their feelings for each other; taking the time to really know each other, made their relationship seem to be on a deeper level because of it. There are definitely some steamy scenes in this book, and I enjoyed how Violet Duke created some tension by having the characters fight their attraction to each other. I loved that Jackson was alpha, but also incredibly adorable. I was surprised by some of the events in this book, and I almost felt like it was 2 different books because it sort of veered off in a different direction than what I felt was the initial tone of the story, and at first it was a little weird for me, but I enjoyed where the story went, and I was interested the whole time in the events going on. I would of loved a bit more for the ending, but I'm looking forward to reading more in this series and more books by Violet Duke.

Review for Dragon Soul by Katie MacAlister - 5 out of 5 stars!

Sophea Long knows that escorting her octogenarian client to Europe will be an adventure. Mrs. P has a habit of stealing anything shiny, and the former "hoochikoo dancer" is a lot faster than she looks. But Sophea hadn't counted on Mrs. P leading her right into the arms of a smoldering, dark-haired stranger who kisses like a dream. If only he'd give up all this nonsense about Sophea being some kind of dragon...

There's a reason Rowan Dakar is known as the Dragon Breaker. The last thing he needs is to fall for a woman who literally sets him aflame every time they kiss. After all, he has a mission-one that will finally free him of dragonkin for good. He can't afford to be distracted by the funniest, most desirable woman he's ever set eyes on. But no prophecy in the world can ever stop true love . . .

I really enjoy Katie MacAlister's books! I've read a lot of them, and I always enjoy the kooky humor and the unique situations the characters find themselves in. I've read all the dragon books, and I think that helps because there are some of the previous characters that make appearances through out the whole series, and there are some storylines that continue through multiple books, so I would recommend reading from the beginning, or at least for Dragon Soul, it would be good to read the previous 2 books in this series because there is a continued storyline, but it isn't absolutely necessary since 2 different characters are the main focus of each of the books.

Dragon Soul was lots fun and a great addition to the series! I liked that the characters traveled to a few different places; especially the "cruise", and that each of them were on a quest of sorts, and I enjoyed the hijinks of Mrs. P. All of the characters are weird and kooky, and it is lots of fun reading about them. I'm never bored because there is always something interesting going on. Sophea and Rowan are the focus couple of Dragon Soul, and both are in for lots of changes in their lives. Sophea is escorting Mrs.P to a cruise taking off in Egypt from the U.S., but little does she knows that there is more to Mrs. P then she thinks, and there are also things she doesn't know about herself, and along the way, Sophea meets Rowan, who ends up helping out with some tough situations. Sophea finds Rowan attractive, but she is also weary of his intentions. Rowan is an alchemist, and he is on a quest to find a magical ring before it can fall into the hands of an evil demon lord. Rowan is on the outs with the dragons because some dragons were killed when he was trying to break the magic on an object, so he is obligated to help the dragons or he will lose his life. Rowan believes Mrs. P has the ring, and that Sophea has nefarious reason for being with Mrs. P, but as he gets to know Sophea, he begins to question how he feels towards Sophea. I enjoyed how Sophea and Rowan's relationship unfolds; they are really sweet with each other, and I found the changes they go through interesting. There are fun scenes through out the whole book, and I thought the battle scenes were fun; those demons are bad fighters! I also love the ending! It was lots of fun, and I like how all the characters are brought together!

I will definitely read more books by Katie MacAlister; especially about her dragons and vampires!

Review for Unfaithful by Elisa S. Amore - 5 out of 5 stars!

A Secret that Should Never Have Been Revealed

A dark reality lies hidden under our very eyes.
Since their creation, the Màsala have enforced the destiny of humankind on Earth through the Subterraneans, Angels condemned to carry the weight of death on their shoulders in order to please Fate. Evan, a Subterranean, has denied his own nature in order to protect Gemma, the girl he was sent to kill and with whom he has fallen hopelessly in love.
But what are the consequences of cheating Death?
Five months have gone by since her last encounter with Death, and in spite of having experienced the most intense period of happiness in her life at Evan's side, Gemma's instinct reminds her that the game is far from over. Evan, overconfident, lets his guard down, revealing an unmentionable secret—an error that can be paid for only with blood. Death returns to claim Gemma, sending its faithful servants to kill her. Desperate, Evan will do anything to save her, but the menace will seek them out even where they feel safest . . .
The challenge between passion and death will pit the protagonists against each other. In the face of jealousy, betrayal, and emotional devastation, Evan and Gemma find it isn’t easy to escape their fate.

I loved this! It is super sappy with deep declarations of undying love, and I thought it was all wonderful. Gemma and Evan are absolutely adorable together, and their relationship is so sweet, and their actions towards each other are breathtaking. The way they feel about each other is soul deep, and I as a reader I could feel how much love they have for each other. Their love is beyond amazing to read about. Gemma and Evan have so much to deal with, and I really enjoyed seeing their relationship grow throughout Unfaithful, and how much they trust and rely on each other. I think Amore did an excellent job of writing the descriptions for setting the scenes; especially the Eden scenes, and I felt I could fully visualize that mystical world, and the love scenes were written beautifully.

Unfaithful pretty much picks up right after the events in the first book, Touched, left off, Gemma and Evan are together after Evan and his "family" brought back Gemma from being dead, and they are trying to be happy, but both are weary because Death may still be after Gemma. Unfaithful focuses a lot on the relationship between Gemma and Evan, about how they feel about each other, and finding a way to stay together. There is a lot of steamy make-out sessions, and words of deep devotion to each other, and the words they say to each other just make me melt with the intense connection they have with each other. I found it extremely romantic, and as I said earlier it is definitely sappy, so if you don't like that type of thing you have been warned. This book is pretty much YA, but it does border on being an NA book for me at times because of the steam factor of some of the scenes.

Gemma is experiencing some strange things and "accidents" keep happening to her, and there were a couple times that I was like "Come on, Guys! How do you not know what's up!", and I also thought the group didn't really use their brains in certain situations! The whole fiasco at the end could have been easily avoided if the group gave it some actual thought; they were terrible planners, lol. I'm thinking there's something up with Gemma, and I would have thought the Witches would be shown more in Unfaithful, but we don't get many answers in this book, and of course, there is a huge cliffhanger! So, now I need the next book ASAP! I still love the idea of the whole Angel of Death in love scenario, and I'm really looking forward to learning more about Evan's world. I gave the first book in this series 4 stars, but I was a little harsh in my review because I felt Gemma lost herself too much and I felt she was rude to her so-called friends, but I think she was better in this book; that might be because she wasn't around her "friends" too much, but I'm putting it in the win category anyway. There's also something in the end that I'm not crazy about, but I am interested to see how it progresses.

I love the world Amore creates with her writing. I think there are some unique and interesting aspects to this series, and I am really excited to continue with this series! I need the next book now!
