Review for Christmas Kisses and Wishes by Sharon Kleve - 4 out of 5
After her husband divorced her, Finn Dubose packed up her dog Scorch, gathered what was left of her dignity and set out on a twelve month adventure to find happiness.
After nine months of traveling from Florida, to Colorado, and then to Maine, all Finn wants is to go back to Charleston, South Carolina and spend the holidays with her grandmother. But reluctantly, Finn promises Gran she’ll spend the last three months of the year in Seattle, Washington.
The spectacular vineyards in Eastern Washington entice Finn to drive from Seattle to the small town of Vine Grove. What she finds is a place full of kind, generous people, including, Keaton Vanhorn, a single, attractive, veterinarian. Even better, he loves animals as much as Finn.
Sometimes, a bottle of wine and The Love List is all you need to find love. Stop by the small town of Vine Grove and maybe you’ll be lucky in love too.
MY REVIEW -
This is a very short holiday romance with a very small pinch of suspense. It is a clean romance with some very sweet making out. Finn has been through a divorce, and is traveling around for a year to help figure out what she wants in her life, it's the last 3 months of that year, and Finn lands in Washington State in a small wine centric town. The story spans October, November, and December with time jumps, so we get a pinch of Finn's activities of each of the months. Finn meets Keaton, and begins a romance with him, but since she doesn't know what her plans are going to be, that puts a little strain on their budding relationship, and also someone from Finn's past is also causing some tension. We get to enjoy some holiday time, and Finn coming to terms with what she wants. I thought this was really cute, and I enjoyed the romance! I happen to love Christmas books and such, so I was all on board for that. As I said, this is very, very short, so we don't really get to get to involved in the story, and some things don't fully flesh out, and I would have loved more Christmas stuff, so I would've liked for it to be longer because I enjoyed the characters and their story, and the side characters were great too! Love the addition of the puppy and kitties! Short and sweet!
