Review for Face-Off by Stacy Juba - 5 out of 5!

Head-to-Head, Skate-to-Skate, It's Winner Takes All! What might have been a dream come true has turned into a nightmare. Brad's twin brother T.J. has gotten himself out of the fancy prep school his father picked for him and into the public high school Brad attends. Now T.J., the bright light in his father's eyes, is a shining new star on the hockey team where Brad once held the spotlight. And he's testing his popularity with Brad's friends, eyeing Brad's girl and competing to be captain of the team. The whole school is rooting for a big double-strength win, not knowing that their twin hockey stars are heating up the ice for a winner takes all face-off.

I really enjoyed this! It's not my typical type of read, and I'm probably not it's intended audience, but that just goes to show how wonderful Stacy Juba's writing is! Face-Off is about a group of brothers that are going through some tough things in their lives, but hopefully with each other and their love of hockey they can come together to overcome any obstacle, but some sibling rivalry gets in the way. Brad and TJ are the eldest of the 4 brothers, and they are twins, TJ goes to a private school, while his brothers all go to public school, but a situation in the family causes TJ to have to switch schools to the school with his brothers. TJ was the star hockey player on his private school's team, and Brad is the star player on his team, so when TJ transfers and joins Brad's hockey team, Brad isn't too happy about it. I loved the bond that all the brothers have, and I happen to love the hockey aspect! This read would be great for both males and females, and Stacy Juba writes wonderfully real characters. I also listened to this in audiobook form, and the narrator did a great job at fluctuating their voices so I could tell all the characters apart, and the narrator maintain a steady voice level. I look forward to reading more books by Stacy Juba!

Review for Love's Warrior: Zodiac Shifters by Jennifer Hilt - 4 out of 5

All’s fair in love and the war to win back his fated mate…

Being the daughter of Aries, the God of War, means Jessica Tindal is an Amazon warrior. But she’s given up her bloodthirsty ways to hideout working as an herbal healing witch. Too bad she’s stuck in an Arctic ice station with a killer intent on framing her.

Enter Paranormal Marshall Carson Slater—ice bear shifter, silver-haired hottie, and oh yeah, Jessica’s ex-husband. Carson arrives in Icy Cap determined to do two things: take down the ice station killer and reclaim his wife. His protective instincts drive him to keep her by his side at all times, which plays perfectly into his plan to seduce her back into his bed and his life. Now all he has to do is prove her innocence and win her heart before the real killer strikes again.

This was great! I love that there is a shifter ice bear! The setting is super cool, it's in an Artic research station, and there's a killer on the loose that adds some awesome suspense to the story. Jessica is an Amazon Warrior in hiding as a witch, and is doing research at the station, when people around her begin to be killed, and she's the number one suspect. Carson is her ex-husband, who is also a Paranormal Marshall, so he is called to the research station to find the killer. Jessica and Carson have some baggage between them, but both still have strong feelings for the other. The romance is sweet and sexy, and the sexual tension between Jessica and Carson was great. This is a fun, quick read! I look forward to more from Jennifer Hilt!

Review for Lure of the Dragon by Anna Lowe - 5 out of 5!

Aloha Shifters - Jewels of the Heart: Book 1

Good dragons? Bad dragons? Twenty-four hours ago, private chef Tessa Byrne didn’t know about the terrifying world of shifters. Now she knows too much, like the fact that a ruthless dragon lord is determined to claim her — forever. Tessa flees to Maui, where sunny skies, swaying palms, and a handsome stranger conspire to play tricks with her heart. Can she truly trust Kai Llewellyn and his band of battle-hardened shapeshifters to save her from a gruesome fate?

"Don’t trust a human, and never, ever fall in love with one." Those are lessons Kai learned the hard way. But Tessa is different. Her emerald eyes mirror the mysterious pendant she wears, and her flaming red hair makes his heart race. Is his inner dragon just greedy for a new kind of treasure, or is Tessa his destined mate?

I love Anna Lowe's books about wolves and I love dragon shifters, so I knew I'd probably love this one, and I was right! Another awesome book! Tessa is on the run from a shifter that was trying to kidnap her; this shifter business is all new to Tessa, so she isn't quite sure what to make of it, so on the advice of a friend, she finds herself in Maui looking for some help from some other shifters, who are supposedly friendlier. Tessa is a tough chick! She's having a lot of crazy thrown at her, and she is handling it very well. Among the various shifters she meets up with, there is Kai, and there is something about him that draws Tessa in, but she doesn't know if she can trust him. Let me tell you, these two create some sparks! Some hot moments between these two! Kai and Tessa's romance is also sweet, and I loved their connection. I loved that we get dual POV's, and I loved all the dragon shifter traits! Love me some fire breathing, high flying, gold/jewel loving dragons! This book is a standalone, but it seems there is a connecting storyline that is going to be going on throughout the series, which I totally love! I'm really looking forward to getting the stories from the rest of the guys! I listened to the audiobook version of Lure of the Dragon, and the narrator did an excellent job! She does male and female voices, and I think she does it seamlessly! Loved this new series from Anna Lowe, and I'm super excited for more!!

Review for Honor by Nicole Blanchard - 5 out of 5!

A gorgeous woman, a heart pounding kiss under the mistletoe. It should’ve been the start to making some Christmas magic, but I pushed her away.

She deserved better than a wounded warrior, someone who could barely face getting up in the morning.

A year later I’ve turned my life around, made myself into a man she could be proud of. A man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

And all I want is a second chance with her.

I loved this! First off, It takes place during Christmas, and I absolutely love Christmas romance, so right from the start I was loving it! It's fun and sweet, and the romance is cute and hot! I would've loved for this story to be longer! I also love second chance romances, and I love wounded soldier stories, so this book had lots of wonderfulness! This book features Scott and Faith, Scott has returned home after being injured while in the military, it's Christmas, and Faith's family invites him to their very large and crazy family Christmas, and sparks begin to fly between Scott and Faith. Heartwarming, hopeful, and entertaining! Loved this addition to this already awesome series!

Review for Tangled Web by Gena D. Lutz - 5 out of 5!

Night Queen... Black Widow… Hellhound. These are the titles I never wanted, yet, now they're mine.

With just a stab of a dagger, I have become the next reigning queen of a pack of ancient hellhounds: the Fang and Claw. And with each infuriating encounter, my yearning to accept their bond grows.

Loved this continuation of the first book! Cassis is still super awesome and kicks butt! Plus, there are hellhounds! Totally cool! The only problem I had with this book is that it's way too short! I want more story! So, I suppose that's a good thing because I want more! The story is interesting, unique, and entertaining the whole way through! I'm loving the direction the story is going in with Cassis gaining lots of power as the new Night Queen, and she has a growing entourage of some really interesting characters. Looking forward to more! I want to see more of her Venin side!

I love the humor in this series, and I love the raw emotion the characters have. I totally loved the first book, but was a little wary because Andie wasn't exactly my favorite, but the writing really resonates with me, and so I ended up loving Hate 2 Lovers! You really should read the first book in the series because that's when Andie and Roman's "relationship" begins, so you'll want to check that out, and it's super awesome anyway, so it's a must! Andie and Roman have a very volatile relationship, and it's mainly because both are afraid to get hurt, so they act out; mainly Andie, and fly off the handle, which I wasn't loving about Andie, but luckily we get to know Andie more as the story progresses, and get to know a bit more of what she is feeling. I'm not a huge fan of the baby scenario, but I love the way Roman stepped up, and I actually love his alpha attitude. There are definitely some hot times between Andie and him, and I love how protective he is. I would've loved more of Dani and Ram from the first book because I absolutely loved that book! But I was glad that they did have a bit of a role in Roman and Andie's stories. Humorous, hot, and immensely entertaining!

I'm really loving this series! Siobhan Davis has the ability to keep me reading from beginning to end, I started the book and didn't stop till I finished! Normally, there's some things in this book that aren't usually for me when I choose a book, but Siobhan Davis' writing is just so involving and real that the true heart and soul of the book shines through! This is the 2nd book in this series, so you'll definitely want to read the first book, since this book picks up right where the first book ended. This review may have slight spoilers for the first book.  Faye and Kyler are devastated hearing some rather shocking news, and the budding relationship between the 2 takes a major hit with this news; which is to be expected under the circumstances! And on top of that, they have to deal with the rape charges against Kal, Brad's feelings for Faye, and that skeeze Addison, who Kyler may not be quite finished with, and if that weren't enough there's a murder mystery to boot! All of these crazy things lead to some major Draaammma and a whole lotta awesome! Most of the characters get on my nerves at times; even Faye due to a certain stupid party incident, but that just makes them more real to me because of their flaws. I will say some of these characters need to keep it in their pants! That would cause a lot less problems! The romance is definitely heartfelt and deep, and I could feel the intense emotions in Siobhan Davis' words. Faye and Kyler have a lot to deal with, and the secrets keep on coming! I'm so sad that I'm going to have to wait now for the next book because I want it now! (ala Veruca Salt of Willy Wonka fame) So, in conclusion, if you want some craziness, angst, drama, and some raw emotion then read this book! Siobhan Davis has done it again! Love all of her books!!

Review for Sink or Swim by Stacy Juba - 4 out of 5

When reality TV turns to murder, it's sink, swim or die. Ambitious personal trainer Cassidy Novak has gained national fame for starring on Sink or Swim, nicknamed SOS, a hit reality game show set aboard a Tall Ship. She hopes the prize money will help to launch her dream of owning a chain of fitness centers. Not only does she lose the competition and have to walk the plank in the finale, after the game show ends, the terror begins. Upon returning to her small Massachusetts hometown, Cassidy discovers she has attracted a stalker masterminding his own twisted game. She struggles to focus on her health club job and celebrity endorsement opportunities, but her stalker has other plans. As her former competitors get knocked off one-by-one, Cassidy refuses to play by his bizarre rules. She's also being shadowed by hunky photographer Zach Gallagher, who has been assigned to capture her personal moments for a spread in the local newspaper. She wants to trust Zach, but fears he may not be the nice guy that he seems. With or without Zach's help, when the stalker forces a showdown by threatening her family, Cassidy must once again walk the plank - this time for her life.

I love Stacy Juba's writing! She has some interesting storylines for her books, and Sink or Swim was very entertaining! Cassidy is the main character, and she is getting her 15 minutes of fame after having starred on a reality show, but with the good of fame there is also the bad. Cassidy has to deal with overzealous fans, reporters, and a creepy stalker. Cassidy is initially excited to have a little bit of fame and money, but with some stalker sending her notes and gifts, her life is taking a dangerous turn. The whole premise is really interesting, and I loved the mystery with the stalker angle. I love that in Stacy Juba's books there is many ways the mystery could go, and she keeps you guessing till the end! I liked that Cassidy was strong, but I did find her rather rude at times, but she was in a tense situation, so I'm giving her a little slack on that. I do feel like the romance was kind of lacking in this book, but luckily the rest of the book was interesting, so I didn't mind that too much. I listened to the audiobook version of this story, and the narrator did a great job! She did accents and male voices, and did a great job with all of them, so that made for an enjoyable listening experience. I will definitely read and listen to more books by Stacy Juba!
